After spending the weekend in a little town by the lake, and staying in a lovely B&B tucked away in the countryside, I have a sudden urge to pick up and move out of the city! Absolutely loved how quiet and peaceful it was out there, with the fresh air and all of nature's surroundings. The B&B we found was owned by a really sweet, Swedish woman and her family, with a huge property and a beautiful home – all white decor with the odd pop of colour of course. Housed on their farm, they own all kinds all animals including horses, goats, sheep, cows, rabbits, chickens, 2 dogs and a lama. "Play time" as her husband described to me, since they used to lease a dairy farm with 160 cows, yikes!
During our stay we visited a multitude of little, unique boutique shops, from natural made soaps and garden decor, local bakeries and late-night ice cream, to antique markets and book stores. Had a little adventure through the woods, where a couple owns a huge property filled with little wooden cottages, sunrooms, and adorable displays they've built themselves... all for you to enjoy, as you follow a trail throughout the forest. It was such a unique little place...
Also, had the time to visit a lavender farm, which was by far my favourite outing. I unfortunately, accidentally deleted some of the my photos from this stop, but it was just beautiful with the sun shining down and all the lavender just starting to bloom. I picked up a ribbon tied jar of lavender bath salts, and a little drawstring pouch of dried lavender – perfect for under the pillow for a sound sleep... hoping to get back out there soon once all the whole garden has bloomed!
Have a few errands to finish for today, but officially off on vaca till Wednesday... hope your week has started off well!
