The environmental charity Global Cool has teamed up with Stella Tennant, VV Brown, Jo and Leah Wood, Adam Crossdale and Laura Bailey to create a series of short films to raise awareness of the benefits of turning your central heating down to 18 degrees – including saving money, saving your skin and ALSO helping to save the environment. Each film sees a celebrity and stylist create a fashion-forward look that’s both hot and warm, using clothes from the high street and the high end to suit a variety of scenarios – whether it’s VV Brown writing music at home, Actor Adam Crossdale (cute new doctor from easties!) preparing for a date or Jo and Leah Wood dressing up to the nines at their new pop-up restaurant.
Check out some of the videos to learn how to turn up the style up while turning down the heat! Also see below on how you could have the chance to Win £500 of ASOS vouchers by supporting Global Cool's warm winter style!
As it has emerged that individuals are responsible for 40% of UK emissions (cars account for 26.1%) and that quite staggeringly 69% of apples sold in the UK are from abroad, our celebrities have joined forces to raise awareness of the benefits of keeping your thermostat below 18 degrees – whether it’s environmental, financial (you can save up £40 a year by installing an intelligent thermostat) or physical as you can burn up 60 KCals an hour by keeping your heating below 18 - now if that isn't a good reason other than thinking of the environment I don't know what is!!! As I write this I'm just about to do the very same, if I can ever work out how to use my new so called state of the art heating system, however it's definitely a task worth tackling!
Film viewers will also have the chance to win a new winter wardrobe in order to recreate these looks by entering Global Cool’s Facebook competition, in association with ASOS.com. Global Cool’s Facebook fans can upload a picture of themselves wearing their most stylish winter knits and get their friends to vote for them to win £500 worth of vouchers.
