Her father is Wing Commander L.K. Dutta (retired) and her mother is Jennifer Dutta. Lara completed high school from St.Francis Xavier Girls' High School and the Frank Anthony Public School, Bangalore. The actress is a graduate in Economics with a minor in communications from Mumbai University. In the year 2000, she was crowned Miss Universe and became a UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador in year 2001. Former Miss Universe Lara Dutta began her acting career with a Tamil movie, 'Arasatchi' in the year 2002.
She made her bollywod debut with the movie 'Andaaz' in the year 2003, wherein her performance brought her Filmfare Best Female Debut Award. Her commercial hits were 'Masti' (2004), No entry (2005), Partner in (2007) and House full in the year 2010. Presently, the actress is looking forward for her upcoming project' Don-2' wherein she will be seen as Lora, it is a sequel of 'Don'. In Don-2' King Khan of the Bollwood town Shahrukh Khan is playing the lead role, the flick is directed by famous director Farhan Akhtar. Lara Dutta is the new addition in the movie.
