Sparkling and shining, there's nothing like a little touch of sunny yellow to brighten your day. These gorgeous pieces are the latest from Emma Stine, a unique jewelry company where their styles change as soon as they run out. Each piece of jewelry practically one-of-a-kind! Isn't that a great concept? It really makes each item feel truly special. Recently, I had the opportunity to interview Irene Barsky, the Director of Merchandise for Emma Stine jewelry, which I'm happy to share with everyone today...
Where do you get inspiration from?
For me, inspiration comes from my everyday world. Sometimes it can come from a song or a book I am reading. Other times, it could be someone I'm speaking with, or while I'm shopping and seeing a couple or a new mom.
What is the thought process you go through to design each piece?
At Emma Stine, we have a very unique way of selecting our jewelry. Each season we define several themes we want to explore.
Your jewelry collections are always changing, and once they're sold out, it's on to the next set. Is there any collection you wish you could bring back and make available permanently?
No, not at all! I love that the styles always change. It makes shopping so much more fun. Every week something new comes in, everything constantly changes!
And a few questions I always ask here on Dress, Design & Decor... What is your favourite item of clothing/jewelry? Who are your favourite designers? And lastly, what is your favourite thing about your home?
My absolute favorite piece of jewelry is my wedding and engagement ring. My engagement ring is a family heirloom piece with a hand-cut Diamond; it's a unique setting that's simply gorgeous. My wedding band is a replica of 15th C. French Poesy Ring that says "Pencez De Moy," which means "Think of Me." I love the story behind the ring, but what makes it absolutely special is that my husband wears my ring on his pinky so he "always has me close."
My favorite designer is Paul Rand. I particularly love the children books he wrote with his wife. My favorite one is "Little One." I also love Bradbury Thompson's work.
I would say my favorite thing about my home is that every piece, whether dishes, glasses, drapes or furniture, is something my husband and I picked out together. Our home and everything in it is part of us.
